Flange cover generally bears high-pressure fluctuating load, so the strength rigidity of flange cover are highly required. At present, there is no specific national standard for strength calculation of some non-standard vessels their components. The working state of the flange is an important technical parameter for the safe normal operation of the whole equipment. In order to ensure that the flange works in a safe state, the manufacturer must check the strength of the non-standard flange recommend the maximum working pressure of the flange to the user. In this paper, the finite element analysis software ANSYS is used to analyze the static strength reliability of the non-standard flange in the fuel heat exchanger. Finite element analysis of the finite element model to establish the structure of the vessel flange. The fuel heat exchanger is welded with non-standard circular flange by a 762 mm diameter thick pipe 8 219 mm diameter thin pipes. It is connected with the shell by 56 bolts. The diameter of flange flat cover is d = 2170 mm, the thickness of flange flat cover is t = 56 mm. The flange flat cover is forged by ASME sa105, its elastic modulus E = 1.82 × 105Mpa, Poisson's ratio μ = 0.3.
Therefore, the connection of non-standard flange must check the strength of flange recommend the maximum working pressure of flange to the user, so that the user can use the flange more appropriately.
